Public Safety First
We are deeply concerned that the city is eyeing the public safety budget in a desperate attempt to solve its financial crisis. Over the past six years, the City of Los Angeles has enjoyed unprecedented crime decreases, due to the hard work of the men and women of the LAPD. However, the LAPD is still understaffed compared to other large cities – reducing the number of officers on the streets would be a serious mistake. Maintaining fully staffed patrols should take precedence over proposed cost-saving measures in the city’s budget planning.
