Los Angeles Police Protective League Endorses Ted Lieu for State Senate

LOS ANGELES, February 3, 2011 – The Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) announced that it has endorsed Ted Lieu in the special election for the 28th District State Senate race.

Assemblyman Ted Lieu is one of eight candidates running to replace the late Democratic incumbent Jenny Oropeza in the 28th District seat. Senator Oropeza died unexpectedly in October 2010, but her name remained on the November 2, 2010 ballot and won the most votes. We send once again our thoughts to her family and honor her years of service.

“The LAPPL has been very impressed by Ted’s strong commitment to public safety and his determination to tackle the many problems plaguing the state. Whether it was on the Torrance City Council or in the State Assembly, Ted has a track record of confronting our state’s difficult issues and getting results. His strong record in the Assembly and his many years of working closely with law enforcement, and crime victims is very impressive, and we think those qualities will impress the voters, too,” said Paul M. Weber, President of the Los Angeles Police Protective League.
