BEVERLY HILLS (CNS) - A celebrity premier screening will be held tonight for a Hallmark Channel movie based on the relationship between a homeless woman living on Skid Row and a Los Angeles police officer.
The film, 'Accidental Friendship,'' will be shown to an invitation-only audience at The Paley Center for Media. The film will air on the Hallmark Channel at 9 p.m. Saturday.
The movie tells the story of Yvonne Caldwell, played by Chandra Wilson, who goes from a comfortable life to total destitution as a homeless woman eventually befriended by Officer Tami Baumann, played by Kathleen Munroe. What initially drew Baumann to Caldwell was how the homeless woman cared for her three pet dogs, Bebe, Mimi and Peewee, even though she could hardly care for herself. The two find common ground in their mutual love of animals and their friendship blossoms, helping Caldwell get off the streets. Ben Vereen also appears in the film. He is expected to attend the premier, along with Wilson, Munroe, Caldwell and Baumann.
