Eagle and Badge Dinner Saturday

The Los Angeles Police Protective League is staging its annual Eagle and Badge dinner at the Century Plaza Hotel on Saturday.

The Eagle and Badge Foundation is the Protective League's main charity, raising money to help LAPD officers and their families as well as funding medical research and providing scholarships.

Police Chief Charlie Beck and former Assembly Speaker Bob Hertzberg are serving as co-chairs of the dinner, which will honor Villaraigosa, Sheriff Lee Baca and Dodgers owner Frank McCourt.

Also expected to be on hand is Attorney General Jerry Brown and District Attorney Steve Cooley. Actress Sharon Stone is to serve as celebrity auctioneer.
