LA council supports state law banning unloaded weapons in public

The Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday came out in support of state legislation banning the carrying of unloaded weapons in public.

Assembly Bill 1934 would make it a misdemeanor for individuals to carry a handgun in public places.

Councilman Paul Koretz has been campaigning against the open carry of weapons following incidents in which gun advocates tested the laws by wearing their weapons openly while patronizing shops such as Starbucks.
