Commuters will face more closures on Interstate 405 this week while Metro contractors continue work on the reconstructed Mulholland Drive overpass.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, partial lane closures on the southbound lanes will begin at 7 p.m. from the 101 Freeway south to Getty Center Drive. The entire southbound 405 will be closed from midnight until 5 a.m. each night.
Similar closures will take effect on the northbound lanes between Westwood and the Valley on Wednesday and Thursday nights. All northbound lanes will be closed from midnight Wednesday and Thursday nights to 5 a.m. Thursday and Friday mornings.
Sepulveda Boulevard will remain open as an alternate route, but with only one lane open in each direction in much of the work zone.
During the closure periods, contractors will be placing scaffolding and supports above the 405 at Sepulveda Pass to support the new Mulholland Drive overpass.
The work is part of a $1.2-billion project to add carpool and exit lanes on the 405 between the 101 and 10 freeways. The project is scheduled to be completed by next year.
