Kristina Ripatti, a former LAPD officer who was shot and paralyzed by a robbery suspect in 2006, recently participated in the grueling Boston Marathon.
Since she was seriously wounded in the line of duty, Ripatti has given birth and received a home makeover on national television. Her latest challenge helped raise money for financially challenged students.
