Reward offered in post-prom slaying

The Los Angeles Police Department and City Councilman Bill Rosendahl will hold a news conference today to discuss a $50,000 reward offer in the June 13 slaying of Michael McGuire in Venice.

McGuire, 23, was attending an after-prom party when he and another man were hit in a drive-by shooting about 2 a.m. as they stood on Louella Avenue near Venice Boulevard.

The killers were in a dark-colored sport utility vehicle.
