A paroled sex offender from Pacoima cut off his GPS monitoring device and was at large Wednesday, according to officials.
John Howard Marble, 49, is considered extremely dangerous and frequented the Van Nuys corridor, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Marble was convicted in 2004 of two counts of kidnapping and lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, according to state records. He was serving an eight year sentence but was released on parole in October, according to the CDCR.
CDCR agents were notified that Marble's device had been removed or tampered with at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, and arrived at his home in the 10900 block of Sutter Avenue to find the device under his bed.
Marble has blonde hair and blue eyes and is about 5 feet 11 inches tall. He weighs approximately 220 pounds, with a close shaved goatee.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts were asked to call LAPD Foothill Area Detective Monica McPartland at 818-834-3115 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
