Two people were shot multiple times today at the Reseda Park and Recreation Center, police and fire paramedics said. One of the victims has died.
Police and rescue crews were called to the park at Reseda and Victory boulevards at about 10:30 a.m., said a watch commander at the Los Angeles police department's West Valley station.
Fire paramedics at the scene said two persons, each with multiple gunshot wounds, were being rushed to nearby hospitals.
Police radio broadcasts said a suspicious red car had been seen speeding east on Victory Boulevard after the shootings. But just after the shootings, police officials said they were gathering information and did not have details on the exact number of persons shot, or possible suspects.
