A French bulldog's whereabouts remain unknown despite the Los Angeles Police Department making an arrest in connection with a recent high-profile dog theft, a department spokesperson told ABC News Sunday. Rapper Killer Mike has been released from police custody, hours after he was detained at the 2024 Grammy Awards and escorted out by Los Angeles police on Sunday. An LAPD spokesperson confirmed to The Times that the entertainer, half of rap duo Run the Jewels, was handcuffed and placed under arrest at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles shortly after 4 p.m. He was booked for misdemeanor battery.

Suspect shot and killed by LAPD officers near Skid Row

Los Angeles Police Department officers shot and wounded a suspect near Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles Saturday afternoon. The shooting occurred at 2:14 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Towne Avenue, west of South Central Avenue, according to LAPD Officer Drake Madison. The officers were responding to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon suspect, Madison said. When officers arrived they said they saw that the man was armed with a stick and was threatening employees of a manufacturing business.

Burglary suspect arrested following pursuit, standoff in Torrance

A suspect was arrested after barricading inside a Torrance apartment following a high-speed pursuit through Los Angeles County Friday night. The driver was wanted for a burglary and was considered armed and dangerous, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The pursuit began around 7:40 p.m. The suspect hit speeds of 100 miles per hour while weaving dangerously through 405 Freeway traffic before exiting in Torrance.

Woman charged in connection with fatal shooting of music producer in Santa Monica

A 27-year-old homeless woman accused of fatally shooting a man inside a parked car in Santa Monica is due back in court in March on a murder charge and other counts stemming from other alleged crimes in the Los Angeles area. Kayla Delise Mackie was charged Tuesday with murder, attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic firearm and second-degree robbery, according to court records. The charges include multiple allegations of use of a firearm.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of selling alcohol without a permit and maintaining a club without a permit during a sting operation geared to shut down illegal concerts and events in Palmdale, authorities said Sunday.
