A memorial service will be held Monday on the second anniversary of the death of Los Angeles police Officer Nicholas Lee, who was killed when his patrol car was struck by a truck on a steep roadway in Beverly Hills where a number of crashes have occurred.

The memorial will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

On March 7, 2014, Lee and an officer he was training were responding to a call when their patrol car was hit by the truck about 8 a.m. in the 800 block of Loma Vista Drive. The other officer and the trucker were critically injured.

Lee, a 16-year LAPD veteran, is survived by his wife and two daughters.

The stretch of roadway in Beverly Hills been the site of a number of other crashes.

On May 9, 2014, off-duty LAPD Detective Ernest Allen was killed when a concrete mixer collided with his vehicle. And on Jan. 15 of this year, a truck crashed into a parked car, injuring the trucker, who was trapped in the wreckage for a time.
