Officials say blood drives are being held this week to support a critically injured LAPD motorcycle officer.
The first drive to help the 26-year veteran was held Sunday at St. Claire Church in Canyon Country.
The next drive is scheduled for Monday, April 7, at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Another drive will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Downtown Los Angeles from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The unidentified officer was critically injured in a collision with a sport utility vehicle early Saturday evening and reportedly needs blood.
The crash happened at Lankershim Boulevard and Saticoy Street, authorities said.
The suspected driver of the SUV was identified by police as 33-year-old Qaneak Cobb of North Hollywood.
Police said Cobb was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of narcotics about 6:10 p.m. She was being held on $185,000 bail.
