LAPD officer injured during pursuit in Inglewood-Hyde Park

A Los Angeles police officer sustained a head injury Thursday afternoon during a foot pursuit near the border of Inglewood and the neighborhood of Hyde Park.

The officer, who was not identified, was involved in the pursuit in the 1100 block of 67th Street when he sustained the injury, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the incident.

He was being treated for a gash to the head, the sources said.

[Updated at 2:50 p.m.: One suspect, and not multiple suspects, are in custody, police said. The officer's injury was sustained while he was trying to restrain the suspect. Also, police initally gave an incorrect address of where the incident took place. The correct address is above.]

Multiple officers responded from the 77th Street station after calls of an "officer down," shortly after 2 p.m.
