Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in eight L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times' Crime L.A. database.
Five neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Valley Glen (A) was the most unusual, recording 11 reports compared with a weekly average of 4.3 over the last three months.
West Los Angeles (F) topped the list of three neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 19 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 9.5 over the last three months.
Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Dec. 30-Jan. 5, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
