Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck launched the annual LAPD Angels Community book and toy drive Thursday.
As part of the kickoff, students at the 10th Street Elementary School received a toy from members of the LAPD.
If you want to take part in the LAPD book and toy drive, drop off an unwrapped toy or book at any of the 19 city police stations across the city.
Officers will distribute the donated toys and new or gently used books to children and families who might otherwise not receive a gift.
