Republican Steve Cooley is keeping his lead over his Democratic opponent in the too-close-to-call attorney general's race.
Cooley, the Los Angeles County district attorney, was leading San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris by 41,000 votes Tuesday. The gap represents a difference of just half a percentage point.
The secretary of state says more than 8 million ballots have been tallied, with 1.3 million left to count before Nov. 30.
Democrats swept the other statewide offices.
