Crime alerts for Pico-Union, Bel-Air and four other L.A. neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in six L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times' Crime L.A. database.

One neighborhood reported a significant increase in violent crime. Pico-Union (A) recorded 11 reports compared with a weekly average of 5.8 over the last three months.

Bel-Air (B) topped the list of five neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded four property crimes compared with its weekly average of 1.2 over the last three months.

Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Jan. 2-8, the most recent seven days for which data were available.
