Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 14 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of Los Angeles Police Department data by the Los Angeles Times' Crime L.A. database.
Eleven neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Shadow Hills (A) was the most unusual, recording three reports, compared with a weekly average of 0.3 over the last three months.
West Los Angeles (L) topped the list of three neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 16 property crimes, compared with its weekly average of 9.6 over the last three months.
Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Jan. 9-Jan. 15, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
