LA Crime In Vegas -- Kennedy exhibit removed

A display of the suit jacket, shirt, and tie worn by Robert Kennedy the night he was murdered at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles has been removed from a crime scene exhibit in Las Vegas after complaints from the Kennedy family, LAPD officials said.

The exhibit at the Palms Resort will open to the public Wednesday -- minus the Kennedy clothing -- in conjunction with the California Homicide Investigators Association annual conference.

The display showed the bloodied clothing alongside a photo of the murder scene against a backdrop of an American flag, and also included an LAPD watch commander's log that contained an entry for the assassination.

"Very busy night," begins the log entry for June 5, 1968. "Sen. Robert Kennedy, vict. of shooting, was transferred from T.R. #2 stat code...," the log said, handwritten in blue ink on lined paper.
