Recent week had less crime than any week in four years.
The second week of November marked the lowest reported crime week in downtown in the past four years, according to statistics compiled by LAPD Central Division.
During the week ending on Nov. 14, there were 44 reported crimes throughout Central Division, which includes most of Downtown.
Violent crime is down 9% compared to the same time last year; robberies are down 5%; rapes are down 19% and aggravated assaults are down 12%.
The division's overall crime numbers, which jumped slightly in 2008 compared to 2007, are now at a two-year low, Central Area Capt. Blake Chow said.
